Lobiondo Caters to Big Business
Rep. Frank LoBiondo, R-2nd, likes to say that the unions in our area support him for his pro-labor stance on issues.
I wonder what the average union member would say if he/she knew that LoBiondo favors tax cuts for the wealthy and subsidies for big business. LoBiondo also favors Social Security personal accounts, cutting benefits and limiting welfare benefits, and he opposes affirmative action and more federal funding for health coverage.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce gives him a 70% rating indicating a pro-business voting record. Progressive Punch, a non-partisan database of congressional voting, rates LoBiondo zero in general union rights, occupational safety and health and outsourcing of American jobs. Perhaps union members should take a closer look at LoBiondo's record and stop listening to what he says because, like President Bush, what he says and what he does seem to be different.
