Doonesbury cartoon worthy of applause

I recommend that the writer of the Sept. 14 letter, “Time to dump Doonesbury,” take a non-prejudiced look at what this president has crafted: Two chaotic wars without end, priceless lives lost, thousands wounded, less freedom at home and a world that hates us. What is being promoted as a “mission accomplished” is nothing more than a hollow sham, far short of what was ever expected or what anyone should reasonably accept. I suggest the letter writer review the Paul Campos column printed in The Press the same day, “Only war Bush is winning is the propaganda war.” On the basis of that candid analysis, Garry Trudeau should be applauded and signed to a long-term contract.
