Gas dropping - but why?

Of late, gas prices have fallen close to $1 per gallon. Isn’t it wonderful? Has anyone in the know explained why?I don’t want to be cynical, but could there be a movement out there to influence our vote in the November election by making us feel wonderful?Let’s wait until Thanksgiving time and see if we still feel wonderful.
