No shame
What more can be said about the Great Divider's, oops -- the Decider's ruinous, morale-busting call for additional troops to the inescapable black hole once known as Iraq? The commander in chief's demand for 21,000 additional troops and hundreds of millions more in scarce tax dollars is President Bush's final act of desperation.
To quote from the Army-McCarthy hearings from the mid-'50s when Army attorney Joseph Welch addressed the infamous political witch hunter U.S. Sen. Joseph McCarthy, R-Wis.: "Until this moment, I have never really gauged your recklessness . . . have you no sense of decency."
Well, has Bush no shame? How much longer must his Iraqi disaster and fatal judgments continue?
How many more Americans, allies and Iraqis must die so he and his fellow chicken hawks, in the safety of the White House, may save what is left of his political fortunes and dubious heritage?
